122 S Allegheny Street Bellefonte, Pennsylvania 16823

When Helen Foxx & Co opened in Bellefonte, I was excited yet, I admit, skeptical. I mean, let’s consider the local shopping scene… can you even buy clothes at the mall anymore? Can you walk into your office or a charity dinner without that awkward “I see we both shop at LOFT” moment? What’s the last clothing store to open here, GAP? Old Navy? I like SUPER CASH as much as the next person, but let’s come on… we’re all walking around in the same clothes.
Which brings me back to Helen Foxx… a women’s clothing boutique? In Bellefonte? Yes. YES. Forget shopping online and hoping for the right fit. Thanks to owners Wendy Hockenberry and Joyce Mills, you can pop over to their gorgeous Allegheny street boutique to check out, try on, and take home something adorable, affordable and totally unique.
Which brings me to the point of this article. Valentine’s Day. Ladies. Wouldn’t it be lovely to receive a gift from Helen Foxx for Valentine’s Day? Well, sure, I mean, it WOULD, but it might be even better to show yourself a little love this year. When I stopped by Helen Foxx over the weekend for Bellefonte’s First Sunday, the racks were filled with items to beat those mid-winter, February, puffy coat blues. So, why wait?
Heading out for Valentine’s Day? Depending on your destination, pick up a new top or dress, all unlike anything else you’ll find in town. I mean, these tops, right? Violet is the new black and Helen Foxx has variety of styles, from super feminine to a little edgy, and they all dress up or down perfectly.
I’m typically a jeans girl myself, but if I’m going to wear a dress, I’m wearing one like THIS. I love that the print is bold but not overdone, so you still get the feel of a little black dress
Staying in for a quiet, casual dinner? You can’t go wrong with classic black leggings and a long top or sweater. Helen Foxx has super soft, high-quality leggings that feel and look great. But hey, just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t dress for the occasion. Pick up a comfy yet sexy bralette to peek out of an oversized top.
I know what you might be thinking… buy my own gift? But here’s the beauty… everything at Helen Foxx is budget-friendly. And don’t worry, I’m not letting your significant other totally off the hook. Listen up, Helen Foxx has the perfect gift for the woman in your life… let her pick it out with a gift card. Or, if that’s too impersonal for you, seek some direction from Wendy and Joyce in selecting hand-crafted local jewelry. These hearts are super simple yet elegant, and obviously perfect for the occasion, but there’s also a more bohemian-style collection plus several others by local artists. If jewelry’s too intimidating, you can’t go wrong with a sweet bag. This Valentine’s pink one is adorable, but there are also more classic styles and colors.
Whether you’re buying for yourself, or buying for the special woman in your life, Helen Foxx is your Valentine’s Day shopping destination.
