As Bellefonte continues to grow its neighborhoods and businesses, it never loses its small-town appeal. Bellefonte offers the best of everything academically, socially, & recreationally, making it a great place to raise a family, dine with friends or hit the water.

One of the best parts of small town life is the sense of community you feel with neighbors, friends and local businesses. Bellefonte is an enduring example of this experience. Friends meet at pubs, restaurants, the yoga studio, the local Y and the art museum. On Saturday mornings, parents head to the local cafés or the farmers market while the kids are at swimming, karate or dance lessons. There’s a lot to do in Bellefonte, and anything else you’re seeking is just a short drive away in State College.

Bellefonte is a growing community, offering affordable homes and real estate, well-performing schools, and an increasing amount of amenities while maintaining its commitment to a safe, tight-knit, family-friendly culture. Local organizations offer opportunities for kids in a variety of sports, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, art, dance, theatre and more. Adults enjoy local networking events, art and dance classes, fitness groups, book clubs, and more.

Bellefonte Area School District offers four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, and was recently lauded for its excellent music program. The Neighboring districts include Bald Eagle Area and Penns Valley. All three districts boast graduation rates above 90 percent and offer vast athletics, academics and clubs.

In addition to seven churches representing all major denominations, Bellefonte is home to St. John the Evangelist Catholic School and Centre County Christian Academy (CCCA). St. John serves students from pre-K through 5th grade, while CCCA offers pre-K through 12th grade. In the past five years, St. John School has grown an unprecedented 39 percent as Bellefonte becomes an increasingly more appealing place to raise a family in Central Pennsylvania.
